The Bergen County Freeholders last week confirmed County Executive James Tedesco’s appointments of two members of the Bergen Community College board of trustees.
The freeholders approved the appointment of Germaine M. Ortiz, a vice president of Dinsmore Capital Management in Morristown. Ortiz previously served as a college trustee from 2004 to 2012. She is a former Palisades Park councilwoman, a former Bergen County Utilities Authority commissioner and served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
The board also re-appointed Dorothy Leung Blakeslee, chief operating officer for Browncoats Consulting LLC in Wyckoff. Blakeslee has served as treasurer for the board. She is also a member of the Bergen County Workforce investment board. She was part of the transition team for former County Executive Dennis McNerney in 2002. Blakeslee is a former editor in chief of the Asian American Voice.
